In 2023, OFF-THE-ROAD participated in the Tuareg Rally, the second largest African rally besides the Africa Eco Race, with a Yamaha Tenere 700. With more than 110 motor bikes and 60 cars, SSVs and quads, the Tuareg Rally is an important event in the rally sector.
The Tenere 700 we used was completely customised for the event and the rider. With a Tractive Suspension Rally PRO shock absorber with 230 mm travel and a newly developed Kayaba Factory 48mm Closed Cartridge fork with a remarkable 280 mm travel, even the fastest passages at more than 120 km/h did not pose any problem for the Tenere. This was also supported by the extremely torsion-resistant, milled triple clamp with 2-fold clamping on the upper triple clamp and 3-fold clamping on the lower triple clamp.
The brake system was completely modified and the ABS removed. The front is now equipped with a single-disc system with a 298 mm brake disc and an adapted Brembo brake pump. Thanks to the newly designed and milled fork legs, the good standard brake caliper of the Tenere could still be used.
For the rear, we chose a new brake pump with integrated bleed reservoir and modified gear ratio.
In the cockpit, a newly developed and completely redesigned Rally stem carries all the navigation instruments. The Rally Tower used will soon be available for order in the webshop. If you are interested, please have a look at the news.
A F2R RB850 roadbook holder in combination with a RNS TripMaster GFX v2 PRO in our opinion are the best components in the field of navigation, therefore we went for these components.
The navigation components are controlled by an RNS MultiSwitch 3 and the power is supplied centrally via a F2R Rallye Power Box.
All components used (except for the tested prototype components and custom-made parts) are listed below for easy ordering.
Some of the components listed, such as the brake pump or clutch fitting, are not plug-and-play - please enquire with us before ordering.
If you have any questions about tyres, the mousse used, suspension upgrade and tuning or the bike in general, please do not hesitate to contact us by phone or e-mail.
